How to Calculate Full Time Equivalents – Employer Mandate Equation

For all of those large applicable employers that need a quick post regarding how to calculate your amount of full time equivalents, here is a simple equation to figure it out.

Employer Mandate Equation – Total Number of Full Time Equivalents

[Full Time workers + (non-full time hours worked)/120] = Total amount of Full Time Equivalents

Here is an example to help you understand the equation:

Sarah currently employs 60 full time workers and 25 non-full time workers. Each part time worker, on average, works 20 hours a month. What would her total full time equivalent be?

[60 + (25* 20)/120] = 64.16
